JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager of HR Compliance is responsible for overseeing, managing, designing and implementing compliance programs, policies, practices and training to ensure that all business units are in compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements. Reviews, conducts and/or advises in investigations and develops proactive, company-wide resolutions to address findings of HR investigations and audits. Provides consulting services to business units on various compliance related issues. Manages HR related policies and tracks legal and regulatory developments that might impact the organization’s policies. Provides advice as the subject matter expert on various areas of compliance, including I9s, WARN Act, ADA, NLRA, FMLA, USERRA, ADEA, Title VII, FLSA, etc., with escalation to the legal department as needed.
Oversees the preparation of the organization’s Affirmative Action plans. Supervises various compliance audits and oversees compliance with workplace posting requirements. Conducts reduction in force and discharge review consistent with the organization’s non-contract staff reduction policy and guidelines. Prepares and presents compliance reports to management. Collaborates with management to develop diversity recruiting and retention initiatives. Conducts workforce analysis, reporting trends and statistical information to senior management. Participates as a coordinating member of the organization’s human resources team in merger and acquisition activity, as well as many other activities. Position reports on a dotted-line basis to Essentia General Counsel. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Required Juris Doctorate degree. Minimum of five years HR compliance experience or related experience. Proven management and leaderships skills. Project management experience. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various departments and audiences. Ability to gain consensus from business unit on compliance program initiatives. Ability to identify issues, be decisive and operate under tight deadlines.
Required: Current Minnesota, Wisconsin or North Dakota Attorney’s license or eligibility for license
Preferred: SPHR or PHR
