HR Coordinator (LOA/Benefits)

Great opporunity to be the primary coordinator of benefits, LOAs and onboarding of new hires for Maple Grove Hospital.   


  • Coordinates background checks and license/certification verification process, processing team member benefit enrollments, administering team member leaves of absence.


  • Facilitates recruiting efforts for employment by managing the onboarding processes:


  • Opens and closes requisitions in applicant tracking system (ATS).


  • Processes and sends out team member offer letters and onboarding documents.


  • Processes new team member information into the HRMS.


  • Facilitates New Hire Appointments.


  • Maintains record of new team members on onboarding tracking spreadsheet.


  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with Human Resources team members to develop solutions, programs and policies. Participates and collaborates with departmental staff in the development and implementation of Human Resources initiatives.


  • Delivers benefit content of New Employee Orientation to new team members.


  • Tracks benefit eligibility and processes benefit enrollment forms; sends reminders to team members whose forms have not been received; reviews completed forms for accuracy; enters benefit information into HRMS and ensures team member benefit deductions are accurate by verifying elected coverage(s) to enrollment forms, etc., and confirms deductions occur through payroll processing. Completes audits, process’ life insurance/disability approvals.


  • Upon team member departure or change in benefit eligibility, processes COBRA through third party vendor; responds to related employee questions.


  • Processes team member separation paperwork and internal department notifications.


  • Manages the Leave of Absence (LOA) process, coordinates with team member health, and tracks LOA activity.


  • Maintains team member personnel files.


  • Processes team member status changes.


  • Responds to questions and inquiries from team members and leaders on benefit enrollments, Human Resources policies, LOA policies, etc. and provides requested information or forwards to appropriate resources as necessary. Consults with manager or other members of HR team as needed.


  • Coordinates and delivers scheduled and ad-hoc monthly reporting.


    • High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in human resources management preferred. Experience may be substituted for part of educational qualifications as appropriate.

    • A minimum of 3+ years Human Resources experience.

    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, with demonstrated capability in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


    • Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
