Purpose of Job

This position supports various HRIS areas to include processing the ongoing employee status changes and time keeping and payroll functions.

Job Functions

  1. Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data through status change process.
  2. Serves as an internal and external resource to customers for the time keeping and payroll functions.
  3. Facilitates leadership and employee understanding of payroll & time and attendance processes.
  4. Assists in auditing each payroll run to ensure timekeeping is accurate through manual adjustments/corrections as required.
  5. Participates in the maintenance of all required payroll/HR recordkeeping functions.
  6. Coordinates and participates in timekeeping and payroll testing and investigates new function capabilities.
  7. Performs additional Payroll related duties in Payroll Administrator absence.
  8. Backs up Payroll Specialist.
  9. Documents/updates processes.
  10. Participates and supports HR and Payroll projects and initiatives.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Employment Requirements

 Minimum Education/Work Experience/License/Certifications

 

  • HS Diploma
  • 2+ years’ experience in payroll processing & timekeeping

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 

  • Demonstrated mathematical aptitude, problem solving and technical application
  • Knowledge of wage and hours laws
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Ability to serve customers in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Knowledge of intermediate computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse customer populations
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous payroll and time and attendance administration experience
